FOXBORO, Mass. — At the very least, the Buffalo Bills have to prepare for Rob Gronkowski in Week 1.
The All-Pro tight end returned to Patriots practice on Sunday afternoon and participated in practice in full pads. Gronkowski may not be ready for the Bills game — or the Jets, Buccaneers or Falcons for that matter — but the fact that he’s practicing at all is a good sign.
Gronkowski’s appearance at practice is the biggest news of the day, but the Patriots also added some familiar names to the practice squad, including Marcus Forston, who was one of the biggest surprise cuts. It all worked out for New England, though, since Forston can still provide depth at defensive tackle.
