Seattle’s 12th man was responsible for a turnover on Sunday night.

After going three-and-out on their opening drive of the game, the Seahawks lined up for a punt on fourth-and-six. Both teams were lined up, but as Jon Ryan was waiting for the snap, someone in the crowd at CenturyLink Field blew a whistle that sounded like the real deal, and it momentarily confused some members of the Seahawks.

A few players stood up and glanced around, thinking that play had been stopped, but long snapper Clint Gresham was not one of the guys fooled by the noise. Gresham snapped the ball, and the 49ers were gifted with one of the easiest blocks they’ll record all season.

Craig Dahl recovered the ball, and San Francisco took over on Seattle’s 33-yard line.

Check out the strange play below, with a hat tip to SB Nation.
