Quentin Sims, Trumaine McBrideThe Patriots have brought back the one wide receiver who made Tim Tebow look good throughout the summer.

New England signed Quentin Sims to the practice squad, according to a source. Sims had a breakout fourth preseason game, catching three passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns, all from Tebow. Sims also caught one pass for 14 yards in the Patriots’ third preseason game against the Lions.

Sims developed a rapport with Tebow over the summer both on and off the field. The wide receiver told NESN.com that Tebow would even give him rides home from practice some nights.

New England waived Sims during Saturday’s 53-man roster cutdown. He cleared waivers and joins Marcus Forston, Kanorris Davis, Justin Green, Ja’Gared Davis and Jeff Tarpinian on the practice squad. They have two more spots open.
