Tom BradyIt appears Deion Branch and Brandon Lloyd will not be returning to New England.

Prior to Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Tom Brady had been calling and texting his former receivers about a possible return to the Patriots.

Brady denied that report after the game, though.

“No, I haven’t talked to those guys in a while,” Brady said. “I love both of them. They’re good friends and great teammates, but I haven’t talked to either of them in a while.”

The report did not appear to damage Kenbrell Thomkins‘ or Aaron Dobson‘s confidence in the game, if they had heard the rumors before taking the field at 1 p.m. Thompkins had three catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns, while Dobson had seven catches for 52 yards. They limited their drops and played much better than in Weeks 1 and 2.
