Berkshire Bank Faceoff: Brad Marchand Skates Pregame Warmup on Bruins’ Third Line

Brad Marchand, Bryce SalvadorBOSTON — It hasn’t been a pleasant start to the season for Brad Marchand.

The Bruins’ agitating winger hasn’t quite found his game yet with just one goal through four games. Marchand was especially shaky Saturday in Columbus where some potentially costly turnovers showed the forward might be pressing a little bit.

Boston coach Claude Julien tried to fix the problem by moving Marchand down to the third line and bumping Reilly Smith up to the second line. That move worked for Marchand’s old line as Loui Eriksson potted his first goal of the year with assists from Patrice Bergeron and Smith. It appears Julien will try to stick with that Monday against Detroit where Marchand skated on the third line for pregame warmups.

Also, it appears that Matt Bartkowski will be back in the press box after making his season debut Saturday in Columbus. Dougie Hamilton took pregame line rushes as part of one of the three D-pairs.

Here are the projected lineups.
