The Rangers were run out of the building Tuesday night in San Jose, but the worst news for the Blueshirts from the game may not be received just yet.

That’s because the Rangers’ most important offensive player, Rick Nash, left the game early after taking a hit up around the head area. Nash, who battled a concussion last season, skated a few shifts after the hit but didn’t return to the ice after the first intermission.

Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart, who delivered the hit on Nash, will have a hearing with the league on Wednesday, the league has announced.

Nash admitted to eventually developing a headache, but neither he nor the Rangers are giving any more information about the injury.

“Anytime you get a headshot, you’re concerned, to feel the way it feels,” Nash said, according to the New York Daily News.
