Carlton Fisk and Luis Tiant Throw Out First Pitch Before Red Sox-Cardinals Game 6 (Video)

Before the Red Sox and Cardinals took the field for Game 6 of the 2013 World Series at Fenway Park, two Boston legends, Carlton Fisk and Luis Tiant, threw out the first pitch.

Both players were part of the last World Series Game 6 that was played in Fenway Park, which happened in 1975 against the Cincinnati Reds. That night produced one of the most memorable moments in postseason history when Fisk hit a walk-off home run that he waved fair with his arms while jumping out of the batter’s box.

If Boston defeats St. Louis on Wednesday night, it will be the first World Series clinched at Fenway Park by the Red Sox since 1918.
