chris duhonNBA veteran Chris Duhon was sent to the hospital Saturday night when police say a driver intentionally ran him down with a car in an Orlando parking garage.

According to a police report obtained by FOX 35 Orlando, Duhon and his brother-in-law, Julio Hernandez, were involved in an altercation with the driver of a black Lexus around 7 p.m. Saturday.

The three first began arguing through the driver’s side window, and the driver then got out the car and began exchanging words with Duhon face-to-face.

Hernandez reportedly told police that he separated Duhon and the driver, at which point the driver got back in his car and, when Duhon and Hernandez were about 20 feet away, sped toward them. Hernandez said he was able to get out of the way, but Duhon was struck by the car and sent by ambulance to Orlando Regional Medical Center after his head reportedly slammed into the car’s windshield.

Hernandez told FOX 35 that Duhon was able to walk out of the hospital later that night, but Duhon told police he “didn’t remember anything” about the incident.

Duhon, who is currently a free agent, has played nine NBA seasons with the Bulls, Knicks, Magic and Lakers. He appeared in 46 games for Los Angeles last season, averaging 2.9 points in 17.8 minutes per game.

Police are reportedly investigating the crime as an aggravated battery. Duhon said he will press charges if the culprit is caught.
