David Ortiz Rallies Red Sox Teammates in Dugout Minutes Before Jonny Gomes Homer Breaks Open Game 4 (Video)

David Ortiz can be a lovable guy sometimes, but on Sunday night, in the middle of a taut Game 4 as the Red Sox trailed the Cardinals by a game in the World Series, he was all business.

Ortiz held an impromptu team meeting in the Red Sox’ dugout just before the sixth inning began, and it worked. Dustin Pedroia and Ortiz both got on base in the next frame, then Jonny Games finally did what it takes to get himself in the middle of a beard-tugging celebration and cranked a three-run homer that gave the Sox enough for their 4-2 win.
