World Series Cardinals Red Sox BaseballAfter Saturday night’s bizarre ending to Game 3, John Farrell hinted at switching things up behind the plate, and the manager is doing just that in Game 4.

David Ross will be starting in place of Jarrod Saltalamacchia, whose misguided throw led to the Cardinals’ controversial walk-off win in St. Louis. Ross will catch for Clay Buchholz for the first time in the postseason after starting three games with Jon Lester and one with John Lackey throughout the playoffs.

In 15 plate appearances, Ross has put together a .308/.357/.462 offensive line, while Saltalamacchia is hitting .207/.258/.241 with 17 strikeouts in 31 plate appearances.

As for the rest of the lineup, Shane Victorino is experiencing lower back tightness and was a late scratch. Jonny Gomes will get the nod in left field and Daniel Nava will take over in right.
