Matt Craven did his best Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots impression on Saturday.

During a game against Division III football powerhouse Mt. Union, the freshman wideout from Ohio Northern caught a screen pass in the flats and was promptly demolished by defensive back Joshua Scott.

The hit sent Craven’s helmet and mouthguard flying through the air and saddled Scott with a 15-yard personal foul. It was a vicious blow, sure, but a second look shows that it may not have been a dirty one. The initial point of contact appears to be Scott’s shoulder pad on Craven’s upper chest, with the helmet popping off as the receiver falls backward.
