Harry RedknappWhile Harry Redknapp was busy blowing his top, he missed something that would have made him even angrier.

In the closing minutes of Queens Park Rangers’ Championship (English second division) game at Milwall, QPR manager Redknapp launched a verbal tirade against a few Milwall fans after one of them hit his assistant, Joe Jordan, in the face with the ball.

As Redknapp was cursing the fans for hitting Jordan, another threw the ball and hit him in the face. Naturally, this sent Redknapp into a rage, and he wasn’t looking when Milwall’s Jermaine Easter scored the tying goal.

The Mail reports the entire incident seems to have stemmed from an accident.

I think it was just two genuine accidents,” Milwall manager Steve Lomas said. “One of the balls that was thrown from the crowd hit Joe and it cut him a little bit, but I don’t think there was any malice in it and Harry knew that as well. The crowd were just trying to get the ball back into play quickly.”

Redknapp wasn’t concerned about fans’ intent, as the thrown ball hurt his trusted lieutenant Jordan.

“A guy threw a ball at Joe, hit him in the face and smashed his glasses and cut his face,” Redknapp said. “Silly really. Someone else then threw it back in my face.

“But I’m more concerned about Joe — he’s ended up with his glasses smashed in his face.”

Let’s take a moment and imagine how Redknapp would react if one of his players lost focus, argued with opposing players or fans and the opponents scored. The veteran English soccer manager is still adjusting to the ironic nature of life outside of the Premier League.
