Hamza AbdullahThe NFL is working to improve the league’s safety regulations for players, but that campaign started a bit too late for some players.

Safety Hamza Abdullah, who played seven seasons with the Broncos, Browns and Cardinals, spent about an hour attacking the NFL  for their mishandling of player safety in a long expletive-laden Twitter rant on Thursday.

Abdullah, 30, ripped the NFL for not handling injured players correctly for many years, even noting a few of his own on-field experiences to prove his point. He explained that the league should be covering health costs and benefits for players, including mental examinations and psychiatric visits. At one point, Abdullah even referenced the NFL as slave masters and the players as the slaves.
