Dalton Sounders of Rensselaer (Ind.) Central High School put on a special teams clinic last Friday.

With Central Catholic High’s punter lining up near his own 10-yard line early in the first quarter, Sounders flew off the edge to block the Central punt back into the end zone. The play did not end there, however.

As the ball squirted around the end zone grass, another member of the Central punt team scooped it up. After taking a few steps downfield, he too tried to punt it away. But his attempt was foiled by Sounders, who tracked the ball carrier down and swatted the punt for a second time.

Rensselear was able to capitalize on this block, as one of Sounders’ teammates scooped up the ball and rolled into the end zone for the first score of the game.

Sounders’ efforts ended up being for naught, as Central was able to pull out a 28-27 win. His hustle play is certainly worthy of another look, though, so check it out in the video below.
