James Taylor Sings ‘America The Beautiful’ During 7th Inning Stretch of Game 2 With Marathon Bombing Survivors (Video)

He’s an incredible singer and guitar player, he’s in the Hall of Fame, and most importantly, he’s from Boston. James Taylor was invited by the Red Sox to sing both the National Anthem and “America The Beautiful” on Thursday night and, as if anyone expected anything less, delivered a terrific performance.

Amidst a roaring ovation, Taylor entered the field between the top and bottom halves of the seventh inning alongside several Boston Marathon bombing survivors — most notably Jeff Bauman, who lost both his legs, and Carlos Arredondo, who helped save Bauman’s life while wearing his now iconic cowboy hat.

In the wake of the bombings, Taylor organized a charity “Boston Strong Concert” that featured several notable Boston-based bands and artists — like rock band Aerosmith and comedian Dane Cook — and gave proceeds to The One Fund Boston.

Take a listen to Taylor’s version below.
