Underneath the scruffy beard, the now-trademark army helmet and the ski goggles, Jonny Gomes is just a baseball player who’s living out his dreams.
Actually, the Red Sox outfielder couldn’t even envision reaching the World Series with the Red Sox not because he didn’t believe wholeheartedly in his teammates, but because he didn’t know he could even “dream that big.”
In true Jonny Gomes fashion, he spoke with NESN’s Jenny Dell after the Game 6 win in his celebration gear: the helmet, the goggles and a GoPro camera attached to his helmet because “this has to be documented, this is unbelievable,” according to Gomes.
Gomes has embodied the Boston Strong rallying cry all season long, and Saturday night proved to be no different as Gomes once again expressed his love for his team and for his city. Check out the above video to hear more from Gomes and make sure to watch it until the end to see Dustin Pedroia in one heck of an outfit.
