Knowshon Moreno continued his breakout season on Sunday in the Broncos’ win. Fellow running back LeSean McCoy wasn’t impressed.

McCoy, who leads the NFL in rushing through five games, tweeted back at ESPN’s Skip Bayless on Sunday night saying that Moreno “sucks” in the message. The Broncos’ running back saw the tweet after the 51-48 win and tweeted back in response, choosing to take the high road.

Moreno, who was drafted 12th overall in 2009, was somewhat of a disappointment during his first four seasons in Denver, racking up just 16 touchdowns and never eclipsing 1,000 yards. That underachievement might be the source of McCoy’s frustration, as the 2009 second-round pick scored 30 touchdowns and ran for almost 4,000 yards in that time.

Moreno hasn’t proved he’s any better than McCoy this season, but he has been much more impressive on the whole, ranking 10th in the NFL with 331 rushing yards and second in rushing touchdowns with four. That turnaround might not earn him McCoy’s respect, but, at 5-0, Moreno and the Broncos don’t really need anyone else’s approval right now.
