Barack Obama Mike DitkaNFL legend Mike Ditka is not a huge fan of our country’s current president, and Da Coach regrets not taking an opportunity he had to keep Barack Obama from entering the White House.

Back in 2004, Ditka flirted with running for Senate in Illinois, but eventually decided not to because of his “busy schedule.” The Republican side offered no opposition to Obama, who won the senate seat — a political move that eventually propelled him to the head of the country.

Ditka was at the opening of a North Dakota oil facility earlier in the month (we have no idea why), and spoke about the regret he felt surrounding Obama’s presidency.

“Biggest mistake I’ve ever made,” Ditka said. “Not that I would have won, but I probably would have and he wouldn’t be in the White House.”

Ditka is a noted conservative, having supported the John McCainSarah Palin ticket in 2008, but who knows if he could have brought his Super Bowl-winning ways to the White House.
