Patriots’ Offense Struggles Despite Getting Rob Gronkowski Back, Could Be Season-Long Issue (Video)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — OK, so maybe Rob Gronkowski won’t be the savior.

The Patriots got their star tight end back and still struggled to move the football. The offensive line was pretty brutal, giving up four big sacks and New England could never get into a rhythm running the ball, since Tom Brady threw a pick-six on the Patriots’ opening drive of the second half.

Sure, the offense could improve once Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen return, but that can no longer be depended upon. If they start playing better, it should be considered a bonus. Many will blame the Patriots’ loss on Chris Jones‘ overtime fumble, but that was just one blown play of many by the offense, defense and special teams.
