FOXBORO, Mass. — In the wake of placing Jerod Mayo on injured reserve, the Patriots have re-signed a familiar face.

New England brought back defensive tackle Andre Neblett. Neblett was signed last Wednesday and released on Saturday. Neblett has previously played with the Panthers and Buccaneers.

The Patriots also signed cornerback Travis Howard to the practice squad. Howard went undrafted out of Ohio State in 2013. He ran a 4.59-second 40-yard dash at the Buckeyes’ pro day with a 6.75-second three-cone drill. Howard was with the Texans during training camp.
