Patriots Sign Defensive Tackle Marcus Forston Off Practice Squad, Waive Andre Neblett

The team waived newly-signed defender Andre Neblett. He was signed on Wednesday to fill in for Tommy Kelly, who hurt his knee last Sunday.

New England signed Marcus Forston off the practice squad. Forston spent most of last season on the team’s practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Miami. Forston played one game last season.

Forston spent the entire preseason and training camp with the Patriots. He was an unexpected cut on Aug. 31. He cleared waivers and latched on with New England’s practice squad.

Kelly has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Saints. Joe VellanoChris Jones and Forston will be the team’s active defensive tackles.
