Rajon Rondo has some new kicks, and they will be familiar to more perceptive Celtics fans.

Like his former teammate Kevin Garnett, Rondo will now wear Anta sneakers. Anta is a Chinese company that also boasts Luis Scola among its endorsers and is growing in popularity among elite basketball players.

Rondo agreed to be interviewed by a Chinese reporter as part of his shoe deal, and the interview touched on more than just his feelings about footwear. Rondo also said his recovery from his ACL injury is on schedule and that he would consider playing in Asia once he is done playing in the NBA. He mistakenly thought Allen Iverson played in China — Iverson played in Turkey, while Stephon Marbury was a superstar with the Beijing Ducks — but all in all it was one of the least contentious Rondo interviews in years.

Check out Rondo’s interview and a closer look at the shoes in the videos below.
