Xander Bogaerts has the ability to step up when called upon, and has shown that through his play during the postseason.
Bogaerts hadn’t dug into a big league batter’s box since Sept. 29 when he was called into Tuesday night’s Game 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 21-year-old came off the bench and scored two runs after drawing walks — it seemed that the nine-day hiatus had no lasting impact on Bogaert’s ability to stay composed and poised at the plate.
Red Sox skipper John Farrell and Bogaert’s teammates have certainly taken note of his abilities. Hear what they had to say in the above video.
