Adrian Peterson‘s two-year-old son died on Friday after spending hours in critical condition in a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital.
Peterson’s son suffered severe head and choking injuries on Wednesday, leading the Minnesota Vikings running back to travel to South Dakota. Peterson arrived at the hospital on Thursday to care for his son. It was also the first time he met the child, according to TMZ.
The child’s mother informed Peterson a few months ago that he was the father, at which point the All-Pro running back began planning a trip to visit his newly discovered son later this month. The tragic circumstances of the last few days changed those plans, though, forcing Peterson to make an impromptu trip to South Dakota and meet his son for the first time while he was on life support in the hospital, according to the report.
Peterson also has two other children, including a daughter named Adeja and another son named Adrian Peterson Jr.
