Rory McIlroy has shown he has trouble keeping his mental edge and letting things go on the golf course. Apparently, that extends to his private life as well.
The golfer and his famous girlfriend, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, have broken up, according to reports, and the deal-breaker was apparently one cute Twitter photo gone wrong.
The Irish Independent, which reported in August that the pair had split, now says a September tweet by Wozniacki of McIlroy deep in sleep with his glasses on was too much for the golf star. He has ended the relationship, and Wozniacki is “absolutely devasted.”
“Rory was very upset by it, and even Serena Williams pointed out — albeit in a joking way — it was a pretty mean thing to do,” the Independent reports a source as saying.
What photo could have possibly torn the two asunder — and proven Williams right? Well, yes, this is not exactly a flattering shot of McIlroy:
