Amare Stoudemire, Jared SullingerWith the regular season looming, Jared Sullinger‘s court case will no longer be hanging over his head.

The charges against Sullinger stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Deann Smith, in August were dismissed Monday, according to reporters at Waltham District Court. After a brief recess, the judge announced the dismissal a little before noon.

This is obviously not the end for Sullinger. He still has to patch things up with his girlfriend and, as he stressed in a statement immediately following the accusation, make it up to her, the team and fans. It does eliminate one worry for the second-year forward heading into the 2013-14 campaign.

Sullinger and his attorney, Charles Rankin, declined to comment to reporters present.
