Kris Humphries, Kim KardashianWhile Kris Humphries and the Celtics were busy playing the Nets at his old stomping grounds in Brooklyn on Tuesday, an auction house was selling off the last vestige of Humphries’ brief marriage to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

The ring Humphries presented to Kardashain when he proposed in May 2011 was auctioned for $749,000 by Christie’s, a premier auctioneer house in New York. The final price was almost 50 percent higher than the presale estimate of $300,000 to $500,000, according to USA Today.

A portion of the proceeds will go to charity.

Humphries’ marriage to Kardashian lasted just 72 days before she filed for divorce in October 2011. The divorce was not finalized until June of this year as lawyers ironed out the conditions.

At the time of Humphries and Kardashian’s engagement, the ring was estimated at $2 million, USA Today reports.
