RichRichard Seymour isn’t interested in returning to the Patriots this season, but an NFL return isn’t out of the question.

Seymour is open to returning for a contending team later this season, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. Some teams have already reached out to the five-time All-Pro defensive lineman.

“I’ll continue to entertain offers up until Week 10, looking for the right situation,” Seymour told La Canfora.

The 49ers approached Seymour after defensive end Aldon Smith took an indefinite leave from the team, but the two sides were unable to get close on financial terms. The Lions and Falcons have also considered signing Seymour, according to La Canfora.

Seymour, 34, was making $15 million with the Raiders last season, and his big sticking point with teams during the offseason was his salary expectations. He was believed to be looking for something around $5 million per season, which teams were hesitant to pay for the 12-year veteran.
