The Houston Texans must have some strict team rules.

The Texans waived rookies defensive end Sam Montgomery, running back Cierre Woods and linebacker Willie Jefferson on Monday for violating team rules, according to the Houston Chronicle. Montgomery claims he merely walked into a hotel room where Woods and Jefferson were smoking a cigar, according to James Palmer of CSNHouston.com.

The three players were inactive for Houston’s game against the Chiefs after being sent home on Sunday morning. Montgomery did not play a defensive snap for the Texans this season after being a third-round pick. Woods had played three snaps on offense and Jefferson has played 20 snaps on defense.
