Jose Mourinh, Trevor KettleSean Buxton had no idea £15.50 ($25) would buy him the best seat in the house at Stamford Bridge, but that’s exactly what happened to the teenage Chelsea fan on Saturday.

Buxton, 17, had the pleasure of sitting next to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho during the second half of Chelsea’s 4-1 victory against Cardifff City. Referee Anthony Taylor dismissed Jose Mourinho in the 69th minute because of the Portuguese tactician’s constant complaints about Cardiff’s apparent time wasting. Rather than head for the tunnel or Chelsea’s dressing room, Mourinho climbed into the stands and made an empty seat in the eighth row his own — the one right next to Buxton’s.

On Monday, Buxton told the BBC about his surreal experience watching the game’s final 20 minutes with Chelsea’s main man.

“It was so intimidating, something I’ve never ever experienced before, it was crazy,” Buxton said. “I moved up as he walked over and he sat next to me.

“I took a picture of me and him. He didn’t know I had taken the photo. He seemed a bit frustrated at the time. But when we went 3-1 up he was happy.”

The BBC reports Mourinho doesn’t have such fond memories of the game. The FA has charged him with improper conduct for his behavior, and English soccer’s governing body could ban him for his outbursts.

“To be with the fans was not funny,” Mourinho said. “It is frustrating. You want to communicate with the players and you couldn’t do it.”

Mourinho had no apparent problem with Buxton, who savored the moment by taking a selfie for the ages and posting it on Twitter.
