On Saturday, Shave Victorino silenced his postseason critics.
Game 6 of the ALCS had its unlikely hero for the Red Sox when Victorino took Detroit reliever Jose Veras into the seats atop the Green Monster in the seventh inning, eventually propelling the Sox to a 5-2 come-from-behind win. The Flyin’ Hawaiian’s slam was preceded by the fans at Fenway Park singing along to his walk-up song, “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley.
Victorino won’t say that the sing along was the reason he hit his second career postseason grand slam, but that it certainly was a great feeling to have the fans behind him. Hear what else Victorino had to say in the video above.
