Tavon Austin went down like he had been shot early in the fourth quarter Monday night. The rookie receiver crumpled in a heap on the ground and lay motionless. It looked serious.

And then he got right up and jogged off the field.

Austin gave one of most dramatic flops ever seen in the NFL when he was lightly nudged by Seattle’s Heath Farwell on a punt return, pulling out the “lay down and play dead” move usually reserved for international soccer — or hockey games in Montreal.

The rookie did manage to resurrect himself, but his team could not, dropping a 14-9 decision at home after failing to convert on 4th-and-goal in the closing seconds.
