Just one win away from being crowned champs, John Lackey will get the start for Boston, hoping to avoid a do-or-die Game 7 situation at Fenway Park.

With David Ortiz destroying any ball that comes his way, Jonny Gomes bringing his intangibles to the lineup once again and Shane Victorino returning to the diamond, all signs point to a forecast of champagne showers on Wednesday.

The momentum seems to be rolling in Boston’s favor, but will they be able to close out the pesky Cardinals in Game 6?

Michael Wacha will be the man on the mound for the Cards, hoping to repeat his Game 2 performance in the must-win situation. The rookie outdueled Lackey in the second game of the series as the right-hander once again fell victim to poor run support despite a solid performance.

Now, with the series shifting back to Boston, the players — and Red Sox Nation — would like nothing better than to become the beardiest bunch to ever win a World Series title in six games.
