Antonio Cromartie, Ed Reed Wear ‘Wanted’ Shirts Indicating Jets Bounty System, Say No One Is Offering Actual Money (Photo)

Antonio Cromartie and Ed Reed are two of the best playmakers the NFL has seen over the past decade, and their already forming a tight bond as teammates with the Jets. They’re so close, in fact, that they even got matching t-shirts.

Cromartie and Reed were sporting some matching brown t-shirts inside the Jets’ locker room on Thursday. The shirts very much resembled an old “Wanted” poster from the old west, even offering “$20,000” with a photo of a football and a tagline that read “in the air or on the ground.”

The shirts seem like just a little fun and games between a couple teammates, and a few years ago, it wouldn’t have even been considered anything more. But, since the Saints’ Bountygate scandal, there is definitely a more heightened awareness about similar pay-for-play systems. Reed assured that it was nothing more than a joke, saying that no one was actually offering money, according to ESPN New York’s Jane McManus.
