Ben RoethlisbergerBen Roethlisberger is having arguably the worst season of his NFL career this year. The Steelers aren’t playing any better, either, but that doesn’t mean the 31-year-old quarterback wants out of Pittsburgh.

Reports surfaced early on Sunday from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, claiming that Roethlisberger was unhappy with the direction of the Steelers’ franchise and that he may even request a trade. Roethlisberger’s agent Ryan Toliner quickly responded to the report, taking to Twitter to deny any suggestion that the two-time Super Bowl winner was unhappy.

“Ian Rapoport’s apparent sources seem to be guessing what Ben feels about the Steelers and being traded,” Toliner wrote. “This is completely wrong and inaccurate. Ben has always said he wants to play his entire career for the Steelers, and his roots are set firmly in Pittsburgh. He has a lot left in the tank and is 100 percent committed to winning more championships with the Steelers.”

Roethlisberger is completing nearly 65 percent of his passes and had thrown 12 touchdowns through eight games this season, but he’s also on pace to throw 18 interceptions and has the Steelers in the cellar of the AFC North at just 2-6 on the season.
