The Canes will host the Bruins on Monday night, and the Hurricanes will have to do so with a limited roster, as they have had to do for a good chunk of the young season. The good news for Carolina is that they’ll get goalie Cam Ward back in this one after he missed almost a month with a lower-body injury.

That still might not make up for the fact that the Hurricanes are a little light up front. Both Alexander Semin and Jeff Skinner remain out as they nurse upper-body injuries. All told, the Hurricanes have already lost 97 man games to injuries.

Despite that, the Hurricanes have been able to hang around in the Metropolitan Division. They’re in fourth place in the division but are just five points behind first-place Washington.

For the Bruins, Adam McQuaid is still out with a lower-body injury, which means Matt Bartkowski remains in the Boston lineup. That lineup is expected to be the same as it has been since McQuaid went down with that injury on Nov. 9.
