Boston Magazine knows its city, and perhaps that’s why the publication chose to put the future of the Red Sox on the cover of its latest issue, which celebrates the 2013 Red Sox being World Series champs.

The magazine unfurled its December issue this week, saying it’s “in full Red Sox celebration mode.” The cover has Red Sox rookie Xander Bogaerts, who stepped up big in the postseason despite playing just a short time for Boston this year, hugging the World Series trophy that the Red Sox won just one season after finishing last in the division.
