Brandon Snyder, Brandon WorkmanBrandon Snyder is coming back for Round 2.

Snyder, who played in 27 games with the Red Sox in 2013, announced on Twitter that he has re-signed with the club for another season. While Snyder didn’t reveal any details of his new contract, it’s in all likelihood a minor league deal, as the infielder was outrighted off Boston’s 40-man roster earlier this month.

Snyder, who turns 27 on Saturday, hit .180 (9-for-50) with two home runs and three RBIs this past season, which was his first campaign in Boston. The infielder was drafted in the first round by the Orioles in 2005, and spent time bouncing around the Baltimore organization before joining the Rangers for the 2012 season and ultimately the Red Sox for 2013. Snyder is a career .243 (36-for-148) hitter at the big league level with five homers and 20 RBIs in 83 games spread out over four seasons.

Most of Snyder’s playing time this past season came in July and early August. He played mostly third base in 2013, although he also played first base, left field and worked out a little bit at second base.
