Now, this is what you call “threading the needle.”
The Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs went into overtime Friday night, so Sabre’s defenseman Christian Ehrhoff‘s game-winning goal was a welcome sight just 38 seconds into the extra period. Ehrhoff’s stickwork and eventual goal were impressive enough, but thanks to some slowed down footage from Fansided, we can see just how impressive.
When Ehrhoff fired the puck, it appeared to sneak right through the gap between Carl Gunnarsson‘s skate blade and boot before also beating Dion Phaneuf and goalie James Reimer to end the game.
