Jarome Iginla Threads Top-Shelf Goal Past Ducks’ Jonas Hiller to Give Bruins Shootout Win (Video)

Thursday night was the first time in weeks that the Bruins were able to completely escape from the shadow of the Red Sox’ World Series run, and their first game back in the spotlight did not disappoint.

The B’s welcomed the NHL’s second-best team, the Anaheim Ducks, to TD Garden, and three periods of hockey plus an overtime session were not enough to determine a winner.

Both goaltenders were stout in the shootout, but Jarome Iginla was able to slip his shot into the narrow opening between Jonas Hiller‘s right shoulder and the post. Hiller was able to stymie Boston’s other two shooters, but Tuukka Rask was perfect against all three of Anaheim’s, making Iginla’s tally the difference in a 3-2 Bruins win.
