Kenbrell Thompkins has the most receiving touchdowns on the Patriots this season, but he won’t be on the field for the first time this season on Sunday.
Thompkins is a healthy scratch for the Patriots on Sunday, joining fellow rookie receiver Josh Boyce on the inactives list. Cornerback Aqib Talib (hip) and running back Leon Washington (ankle) continue to miss time while healing up from injuries.
Thompkins has seen his reps cut in recent weeks, as veteran receiver Austin Collie has taken a more active role in the offense. It seems that Collie, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and rookie Aaron Dobson are the top-four options at receivers, leaving Thompkins and Boyce as the odd men out — at least for the time being.
