The World Series trophy has been LEGOized.
Just days after the Red Sox won the 2013 World Series, LEGO constructed the Commissioner’s Trophy out of the iconic toy blocks.
“The Red Sox have delivered such indelible memories for kids and adults alike this season, so we were excited to build a unique creation that will continue to celebrate the joy they brought to so many,” said Kelly Smith, marketing manager for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston.
Created by a Master Model Builder, the trophy weighs 9.75 pounds, took more than 80 hours to construct and has more than 2,500 LEGO® bricks. The trophy will be on display at LEGOLAND Discovery Center when it opens in May of 2014 at Assembly Row in Somerville, Mass.
