After giving up a franchise-record 57 shots on Friday night, it would’ve been difficult for the Ottawa Senators to upstage that embarrassing performance in their very next game.

Turns out they were up for the challenge.

In the midst of a four-game losing streak, things got worse for the Sens before they got better. Before Craig Anderson was stretchered off the ice after a scary collision, the goaltender got tested by one of his own during the third period. As if Ottawa hadn’t faced enough shots in their own end recently, defenseman Mark Borowiecki added to Ottawa’s woes, failing on a clearing attempt and burying the puck in his own net.

The rookie backhanded the puck right between Anderson’s legs, breaking the 2-2 tie and putting the Stars up by a goal early in the third. Although Bobby Ryan would later bail his teammate out and send the game into overtime, Ottawa ended up falling to Dallas 4-3.

Check out the accidental goal in the video below.
