Aaron Rodgers, Shea McClellin, Isaiah FreyThe Packers have been good at filling various holes on offense and defense with capable replacements in recent years, but one position where they can’t simply swap out is quarterback. They saw that firsthand Sunday night, and it sounds like they’ll be seeing it more in the coming weeks.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a broken collarbone, according to Chicago’s WBBM Newsradio 780 sideline reporter Zach Zaidman. That injury usually requires several weeks of recovery time.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Tuesday morning that Rodgers’ collarbone has a small fracture “that could sideline him about three weeks.”

The Packers ended up losing to the Bears 27-20 Monday night, and Green Bay backup Seneca Wallace did not look good after replacing Rodgers in the first quarter, when the former MVP left the game after Bears defensive end Shea McClellin landed on him.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said after the game that the team wanted to wait on more tests before discussing Rodgers’ situation. The initial diagnosis Monday night was a shoulder injury to Rodgers’ left arm, his non-throwing shoulder.
