Well, Jon Bon Jovi is halfway there and seems to be livin’ on the prayer of owning an NFL team.
The rockstar has reportedly expressed interest in buying an NFL team, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, and he is putting himself in position to purchase the Buffalo Bills when the team is up for sale after current owner Ralph Wilson dies. Bon Jovi is committed to trying to own the NFL franchise, having spent a considerable amount of time getting to know the area and talking to politicians and power brokers, according to the report.
Bon Jovi is known for palling around with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and he is also close with Pats owner Robert Kraft. He’s made forays into the area of sports franchise ownership before when he almost became a minority owner of the Atlanta Falcons. Bon Jovi is also the primary owner of the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football League team.
A recent rift between Bon Jovi and bandmate Richie Sambora has only added fuel to the fire and the idea that Bon Jovi is realigning his finances and lifestyle in order to pursue NFL team ownership, according to La Canfora.
At the end of the day it would come down to whether or not Bon Jovi could actually afford to purchase a team and take on full ownership. Bon Jovi was named as one of Forbes’ 400 richest Americans, with a net worth of $290 million.
