Richie IncognitoPro Bowl guard Richie Incognito was suspended indefinitely by the Dolphins on Sunday night, after fellow offensive lineman Jonathan Martin filed a formal complaint with the NFL. And now it appears we know why the team made such the decision to do so.

Incognito has been accused of bullying Martin, leading to the second-year tackle’s decision to leave the team last week. The situation seems to be a bit more serious than many initial thought, though, as Incognito’s transgressions against Martin also included threatening messages and racially charged text and voicemails, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.

Given the new information, the NFL will now conduct a “thorough investigation” of Incognito’s alleged hate crimes against Martin. The Dolphins have already turned over copies of the messages to the league.

Martin, 24, who was a 2012 second-round pick, is expected to be away from the team for a few weeks. There is also no timetable on Incognito’s suspension.
