The Patriots were shocked by how small Red Sox players were when they visited Gillette Stadium last week. Perhaps that’s because, despite New England once being home to two of the smallest players in the NFL in Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead, the Red Sox came in looking even smaller.

The word “tiny” is being rolled out again after the two former Patriots players faced each other this week as the Broncos visited the Chargers. Welker’s team came out on top, 28-20, but he and Woodhead made sure to find each other after the game to say hello.

Their greeting apparently allowed another opportunity to poke fun at the size of the two. Welker, at 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds, and Woodhead, at 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds, are both well undersized compared to their peers. Both got their chance to prove themselves in the NFL on one of the few teams that knows how to make the most of players no matter their size or skills. But both are still comparatively sized or bigger than the average man — or baseball player.

Check out the two players’ greeting below, with Sports Pickle poking fun.
