Army Offensive Lineman Proposes to Girlfriend at Midfield Before Army-Navy Football Game (Photos)

Maybe it’s because it’s the holiday season, but love certainly is in the air.

On Wednesday, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen proposed to his longtime girlfriend on the Ellen show, and on Saturday, an athlete who’s prepared to fight for our country also popped the question, albeit on a somewhat smaller scale.

Saturday’s marquee college football game was the 114th edition of the Army-Navy game, held at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. Before the game, Army senior offensive lineman Colin Joy brought his girlfriend Nicole Veroline to midfield and dropped to one knee. Most importantly: She said yes.
