Peter Chiarelli Calls Rookie David Warsofsky ‘Smart’ Player, Compares Him to Torey Krug (Video)

David Warsofsky was called up to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday to replace Kevan Miller, which gives head coach Claude Julien another good skater and playmaker on the blue line.

Warsofsky will make his NHL debut Thursday night when the Bruins take on the Buffalo Sabres in a home-and-home series that concludes on Saturday in Boston. General manager Peter Chiarelli compared the former Boston University defenseman to teammate Torey Krug, both of whom are undersized but also bring impressive offensive talent to the lineup.

Check out the video above for a preview of Warsofsky’s debut.
