With Carl Soderberg out for Tuesday night’s game against the New York Islanders with concussion-like symptoms, the Boston Bruins recalled Johnson on an emergency basis from Providence. He will join the team Tuesday and be eligible to play against the Isles at TD Garden.

Soderberg missed Saturday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators but skated before Bruins practice Monday. The B’s, carrying just 11 healthy and eligible forwards, called up Johnson just two days after re-assigning him to the P-Bruins.

Johnson has skated in eight games with the big club this season, registering seven shots on goal. He’s appeared in 24 games with Providence this season, notching 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points with a plus-seven rating.
